  • The climatic conditions of the application area are extremely important. Ensuring proper and permanent adhesion to the surface is crucial for the application of stone carpet. Therefore, the application should be done on concrete of at least C20 quality or on a solid asphalt surface. If there are cracks on the surface, they should be opened in a V shape and repaired with epoxy repair mortar. Afterwards, Isoprimepox or Isoprime PU primer should be applied to the surface. If the surface is considered weak, it should be primed with Isoprimepox in two coats. Immediately after the second coat of primer, Isotex 160 and Isotex 300 mesh should be glued to the surface before the epoxy primer dries.

When applying the product to waterproofed surfaces (polyurea and cement-based), it is recommended to prime the surfaces with Isoprimepox. Mesh reinforcement is not necessary at this stage. Before mixing, ensure the stones are dry and dust-free. Components A and B should first be mixed together for 2 minutes using a drill. The stones should be placed in the mixer, and the prepared resin should be added immediately while the mixing process continues. To ensure an ideal mixture, the Isopave Stone Carpet Mixer, specifically designed for stone carpets, should be used. After a 5-minute mixing process, ensure the resin coats all the stones, making sure no dry areas remain. The amount of resin to be used varies between 6% and 7% of the stone's weight, depending on its surface structure and size. When mixing with a hand mixer using a bucket measure, the bottom of the bucket may not be homogeneous. In such a case, the mixture should be transferred to a different bucket, and mixing should continue in the new bucket.

Ensuring thickness homogeneity and surface smoothness is extremely important in stone carpet applications. Therefore, after the stones are laid on the ground, a leveling trowel and special Isopave Pulling Trolleys should be used to spread them. After spreading, application should be done using special trowels lubricated with Isopave Trowel Oil. It should be remembered that applying pressure to the surface during application will make the stones adhere more tightly and interlock. If thinner or similar solvents are used instead of oil, the solvent will thin the resin on the surface, reducing the adhesion strength of the stones. Applications using soapy solutions should be avoided as foaming may occur in the resin. For high-meterage applications, finishing with a special Isopave Lightweight Finishing Machine is preferred. If slip resistance is desired immediately after application, Isopave Glass Powder is sprinkled to finish the surface.

    Application on Vertical Surfaces:

When applying to the vertical surfaces of pools, Isovert Thickening Powder should be used. Depending on the air temperature, the A and B components should be mixed with 1.5-1.75 times the volume of the resin by adding the powder mixture to achieve the desired consistency. Depending on the air temperature, the thickening powder should be added in a controlled manner until a firm gel consistency is achieved. Powder usage increases in hot weather and decreases in cold weather. The prepared mixture is first applied to the surface with a spatula. After approximately 10 minutes of waiting, the gel mixture is mixed with the stones at a rate of 6-6.5% and applied to the surface using a trowel tip, pressing down to achieve the final finish. Frequent lubrication of the trowel with Isopave Trowel Oil during application will make the process easier.
