In stone carpet applications to be made on concrete, since the performance of the stone will be as much as the concrete applied on it, it is important to have a solid concrete floor. When pouring concrete, polyethylene (nylon) should be laid on the ground and a minimum C20 concrete should be poured with mesh reinforcement, inclined and polished. After 28 days of drying, the grout layer formed on the concrete surface should be wiped with diamond-tipped concrete polishing machines and the weak layer on the surface should be mechanically abraded. This process should be continued until aggregates appear on the surface. If there are cracks, they should be opened in a V shape and their insides should be filled with epoxy repair mortar. After a good dry cleaning (with vacuum machines), 200-225 gr epoxy primer should be applied per square meter. If there is a possibility of deformation of the concrete in the long term, reinforcement can be made by sticking an extra mesh. Optionally, before the primer dries, Isotex mesh is laid on the ground with a 10 cm overlap and the mesh should be glued to the ground without pots with a crushing roller. Stone carpet application is started after 1 day. The application is made in 8 mm thickness and should be pressed with a trowel to ensure compaction of the application. In large areas, a light finishing machine can be used to provide a fast and solid surface. In the first days, glass powder can be sprinkled on the surface to increase non-slip properties due to wetting.
