Stone carpet aggregates created with natural stones are materials carefully selected and processed from nature. These aggregates are usually obtained from river beds or special mining areas. Natural pebbles collected from rivers are sieved or crushed to ideal sizes such as 4-8 mm and prepared for floor covering. This process preserves the unique texture and color of each stone, giving the stone carpet a natural aesthetic and premium visuality.
There are different types of natural stone aggregates:
-
Angular Crushed Stones: Single-colored natural stones extracted from mines are crushed to 4-8 mm in size. Thanks to their sharp edge structure, they hold onto each other better and provide non-slip surfaces. They are ideal for projects where durability and strength are at the forefront.
-
Angular Crushed Mixed Stones: They are formed by bringing together and breaking natural stones of different colors. They have the same durable structure and offer a decorative appearance.
-
Tumbled Stones: The tumbled process of angular stones removes the sharp edges and makes them slightly rounded. This makes them comfortable for barefoot contact. Since their grip strength is slightly lower, they are preferred for indoor use or areas with low pedestrian traffic.

Natural stone aggregates offer unique floor solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications by combining aesthetics and functionality. Moreover, thanks to their permeable structures, they prevent water from accumulating on the surface, creating floors that are in harmony with nature and breathable.
All aggregates used in Isopave® Stone Carpet coverings are natural. For this reason, there is no color change in stone carpet over time due to minimal surface wear. Aggregates have high strength. Isopave® has more than 50 color options.
Stone carpet creates both permeable and solid structures thanks to its special gradations. The coating thickness to be made is extremely important when selecting the aggregate.
The diameter of the aggregate should not be larger than 1/3 of the coating thickness. For example, for a stone carpet coating thickness of 3 cm, maximum 6.5 mm aggregates should be preferred.
Areas of Use of Drum and Crushed Aggregates:
Round or tumbled stones stick to each other from the parts they touch. Since the aggregates are less interlocked, they can be preferred in interior and exterior areas with low thickness. Larger round stones are suitable for tree base solutions.
Broken and hexagonal stones also contribute to physical strength as they interlock with each other. For this reason, crushed stone aggregates should be preferred especially in permeable ground applications with a thickness of more than 1 cm.
